Is there anyone out there who is a member of Trigger Street?

I have been for a few months now and have got a good grasp of what the standard of short films and feature length scripts are out there. And to be honest there is not a lot of competition. They range from the majority that are naff to some very good productions. And the stuff that has been chosen for competition is top draw.....but most of the things are amateurish and dull. But occasionally there are some jems.

Does anyone else have an opinion of this site as I am inclined to submit my own efforts. Has anyone else? And what sort of response have you got?

No I'm not a member.

However your description of the standard of stuff on there is similar to that of most short-film web sites, stuff ranging from poor to fantastic.

As for posting you're stuff on there... why not?

I registered a long time ago. Read some screenplays and saw a few shorts. Some of the shorts I saw were very good, but many of the screenplays I read were monkeyballs.

But everyone's honest, so you could get some decent feedback.

trigger street is by far the best movie short site on the net.... everyone should sign up and watch movies.

That said... most of the movies are **** . And i find the so called great movies just as boring as the **** ones, just with better acting or visuals or whatever. Every now and again you come across a gem, usually rated much lower than the above mentioned amazing movies That said... i was watching the BBC3 young film maker awards and all the short listed shorts where a pile of wank...so maybe i just dont know great work when i see it?

My advice... whenever you see a good film, steal the idea and make it better

All comment very valid. I have seen a couple of short of TS that have been shot on 16mm with a large crew and budget yet look so ametuerish. And some that have been shot on a hi8 with a couple of mates that are fantastic. just goes to show that talent reigns over equipment...

Hi
Im the director of one of the films nominated for the BBC3 New Filmmaker Prize. My film is Just Grey, what did you think of it? Other than it being a pile of wank!

Looking at the info about the other films its kinda weird because mine cost the least amount of money to make by a long way. I havent had the chance to watch any of the other films yet though, cuz i cant be arsed downloading evil realplayer

i only saw the one show so i didnt see all the short listed... but they all had budgets of like ?8000 and were shot on 16mm making them beautiful to look at. But none of the ones i saw were entertaining in the slightest.

Ill admit, ive not seen many shorts... but i see something like Bedhead on the El Mariachi disk and i can see how that would win an award. Its entertaining rather than an excuse to do some arty farty **** .

Anyways... the next film im going to shoot is going to be a blatent rip off of a movie i saw on trigger street... its one of those things where the original premise was really good but then everything else didnt match up. Its like Michael Cain said about the italian job remake on Richard and Judy... i dont understand why people make remakes of good movies... you should get the movies where the idea was good but for whatever reason it wasnt used to best effect and go reuse it and make a good movie from it...

BBC 3 New Filmmaker 2003

Have a look, I'd be interested to hear what everyone thinks.

POSTED BY ANDYBLAA: My film is Just Grey
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I've watched it. Bloody BBC, why Realplayer???

I thought it was quite good. The effects of colour on B & W looked terrible though... not sure if that was deliberate or if Realplayer just made it appear worse. The performance of the young guy he talks to was really, really poor.

Overall: Some nice shots, nicely executed short; especially considering the ?50 budget. Well done.
